Cantine San Marzano

Italy

San Marzano is a cooperative winery in Puglia, founded in 1962 by 19 local growers and still owned by the founding families. It focuses on indigenous varieties like Primitivo, Negroamaro, and Susumaniello from low-yield, centuries-old bush vines, some over 60 years old. Under the long-term leadership of Chairman Francesco Cavallo, the winery balances tradition with modernisation, including a bottling plant. It runs cultural projects like the annual TramArt label collaborations with artists and initiatives supporting biodiversity and coastal clean-ups. The wines have received awards from Italian and international guides.
