Trousseau

Producer

Michel Gahier

France

Michel Gahier is a family-owned domaine in Montigny-les-Arsures in the Jura, with roots in the Gahier family dating back to 1525. Run by Michel Gahier, who learned from neighbor Jacques Puffeney, the estate farms organically without chemicals or herbicides, though it is not formally certified. Its vineyards lie on limestone, marl, clay, and iron-rich gravel soils in the historic heart of Trousseau. The domaine is known for low-yield viticulture, limited production, and a detailed parcel-by-parcel approach, with each site vinified separately. Alongside its broad range of wines, it also makes Macvin du Jura in very small non-vintage batches.
