Producer

Spain

Bodegas Borsao is a cooperative producer in Campo de Borja, Aragón, rooted in the region since 1958 and built around 375 winegrowing families and 700 member shareholders. Based in the birthplace of Garnacha, it has long specialized in the variety, drawing on old, high-altitude vineyards shaped by the Moncayo’s Atlantic and Mediterranean influences and a mix of clay, calcareous, sandy, and stony soils. The winery emphasizes dry-farming, bush-trained vines, cover crops, pheromone pest control, and broader energy- and water-saving measures, backed by Eco-Prowine certification since 2020. In the cellar, the focus is on preserving fruit authenticity through controlled fermentations, moderate oak use, and bottle aging.
