Blue Quail is a small, family-owned estate in Potter Valley, Mendocino County, founded by Guinness McFadden in 1970 and now run by his children. All grapes come from the family’s McFadden Vineyard, whose vines have been certified organic since 1991 and are farmed organically using solar and hydro power. Production is limited, reflecting a direct estate approach, with wines sold online for pickup and through selected retailers in California and a few other states. The wider McFadden family farm also produces organic culinary herbs and other seasonal products.
