Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero

Italy

Family-run in Vezza d’Alba, in the UNESCO-listed Roero, Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero has produced wines since 1950 and is now led by Daniela and Luigi. The estate focuses exclusively on native Piedmont varieties, including Nebbiolo, Arneis, Favorita and Barbera, making Roero and Roero Arneis DOCG wines alongside Metodo Classico sparkling wines. Its vineyards are farmed sustainably through The Green Experience, avoiding herbicides and chemical fertilizers while using cover crops and flowering plants to support soil and biodiversity. Harvesting is manual, with traditional, gentle cellar work: indigenous yeasts, long macerations for reds, steel fermentation for whites and selective ageing in large barrels or second-use barriques. The estate’s wines express the calcareous, marine-derived soils and distinctive landscape of Roero.
