Amalia Vineyard Alliance

Portugal

Amalia Vineyard Alliance is a family-owned cooperative based at Quinta de São Roque in Portugal’s Bairrada region, bringing together more than 500 local farming families. Founded and led by António Coelho Lima, with winemaking overseen alongside Albino S. C., the alliance emphasizes sustainable farming, community development, and preserving Bairrada’s terroir. Its sparkling wines are made in small batches from native varieties including Baga, Bical, and Arinto, grown in clay-limestone and sandy soils influenced by cool Atlantic breezes. The wines follow the traditional método clássico, with hand-harvesting, natural bottle fermentation, lees aging, and manual riddling. The range includes Brut, Rosé, and Baga Blanc de Noirs, marked by freshness, minerality, and elegant structure.
