Bodegas Altivo, based in Alberite, Rioja, draws grapes from selected high-altitude vineyards in central Rioja, including areas above 500 metres. The elevation and diurnal temperature variation help produce fresh, elegant wines with balanced acidity and ripe fruit. Tempranillo, Garnacha, Viura, Mazuelo and Graciano are cultivated, with styles ranging from young Tempranillo to Gran Reserva. Led by enologist Azucena Hervella, the winery combines manual harvesting and vineyard selection with traditional concrete tanks, oak and bottle ageing, alongside modern cold maceration and full traceability. Its approach is supported by environmental and ethical certifications, including ISO 14001, Wineries for Climate Protection and SMETA.
