Producer

Sileni

New Zealand

Sileni Estates is a Hawke’s Bay producer founded in 1997 by Graeme and Gaby Avery with Chris Cowper and chief winemaker Grant Edmonds, who remains a partner in the business. The winery works from gravel-based Hawke’s Bay sites in a warm growing area and produces several tiers, from the more accessible Cellar Selection range to Grand Reserve parcels and the lower-yield, selectively made Exceptional Vintage wines. Sustainability is a clear focus: Sileni is certified under Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand, with practices including winter sheep grazing, mulched vine cuttings, low-mow grass cover, native planting, tracked water use, renewable energy, and recycled or lightweight packaging.
