Naude family wines

South Africa

Naude Family Wines is a family-owned operation in South Africa’s Western Cape, owned and run by Ian Naude, who also serves as winemaker. The estate follows a small-lot approach, harvesting grapes in small crates and using natural fermentation, including whole-bunch work and destemming with stalks re-added. Wines are aged for 12–15 months in 225-litre old French oak barrels. Its Agter-Paardeberg Swartland Grenache vineyard, planted in 2004, is regarded as a potential old-vine site by the Old Vine Project, though the vineyard has no formal sustainability certification.
