Alta Mora – Cusumano is an Etna D.O.C. project established by the Cusumano family after acquiring vineyards on Etna’s northern slopes in 2013. Its vineyards lie between roughly 500 and 800 metres above sea level, rooted in distinctive volcanic and sandstone soils, with old Nerello Mascalese and Carricante vines. Individual sites include Feudo di Mezzo, planted with ancient Nerello Mascalese, and Pietramarina, whose deep sandstone subsoil contributes distinctive aromas. The Verzella winery was designed with ecological and avant-garde principles, using local materials and corten steel to integrate with the landscape. Alta Mora’s wines focus on expressing Etna’s character, time and natural diversity, and its Etna Rosso and Etna Bianco have received numerous critic scores and awards across multiple vintages.
