Château La Genestière

France

Château la Genestière is a historic Rhône estate in Tavel, in the Avignon area, with winemaking dating to 1930 on the site of a former silkworm farm. Its vineyards extend across Tavel, Laudin, Lirac, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône and Pays d’Oc, on limestone and clay soils with alluvial pebbles and lauze stones. Grenache and Syrah are the leading varieties. The estate was long shaped by Jean-Claude and Raphaël Garcin before being acquired in 2015 by Christian Latouche. Farming is described as sustainable, with a transition toward organic certification, though no formal certification is listed.
