Producer

Emile Balland

France

Founded in 2000, Emile Balland is a family-run Loire Valley estate owned by winemaker Emile Balland and his wife, Cecille. The estate farms vineyards in Sancerre and Coteaux du Giennois, practicing organic, non-certified viticulture with natural treatments and manual harvesting. Emile personally oversees both vineyard work and winemaking, producing Sancerre and other appellations. Since 2016, the estate has also sourced grapes from neighboring growers for its Elementerre label.
