Producer

São Lourenço do Barrocal

Portugal

São Lourenço do Barrocal is a family-owned, single-estate producer in Alentejo, run by eighth-generation proprietor José António Uva. Its vineyards are fully certified organic, with cover crops, manual pruning and minimal irrigation supporting a self-sustaining approach. Winemaker Susana Esteban crafts the wines using concrete tanks, oak barrels and amphorae, combining traditional and contemporary methods. The historic estate has been in the family since 1820 and includes a luxury hotel on the Monte, linking wine production with the landscape and hospitality of the property.
