Producer

Michel Guignier

France

Michel Guignier is a family-run Beaujolais producer based in Vauxrenard, working with old-vine Gamay in forest-surrounded parcels at around 500 metres. Certified organic and biodynamic, the vineyards are tended by hand, with horse-ploughed plots, grazing Charolais cattle and a horse, and organic fertilisation supporting soil and forest biodiversity. Michel Guignier is the sole proprietor and master viticulturist. His minimal-intervention wines are hand-harvested and undergo semi-carbonic maceration with indigenous yeasts, without filtration, fining, or added sulphur and other additives. The wines are aged for 10 months in foudre, expressing a distinctly traditional, artisanal approach.
