Producer

Domaine de Montille

France

Domaine de Montille is a family-owned estate based in Volnay, Burgundy, led by ninth-generation vigneron Étienne de Montille with Alix de Montille and chef de cave Brian Sieve. Farming has been organic since 1995 and biodynamic since 2005, with EcoCert organic certification from 2012. The domaine produces both red and white Burgundies, with whites now an important part of its reputation. Its style emphasizes balance and elegance over power, with manual harvesting, significant use of whole-cluster fermentation, limited and thoughtful SO2, and a minimal-intervention approach. The house also applies strict standards to any selected parcels, requiring reasoned or organic farming and careful vineyard work.
