Founded in 2019 by Colin and Hannah McNany, MarBeso is an extremely small, family-run California producer working with hand-selected vineyards in Sta. Rita Hills, Santa Barbara County, and the Santa Cruz Mountains. The winery focuses exclusively on organically grown or certified sustainable fruit, with vineyard sourcing and farming at the forefront. Co-owner and winemaker Colin McNany brings 20 vintages of experience to clean, acid-driven wines made with natural yeasts and bacteria, neutral French oak, and minimal intervention. Bottlings are unfined and unfiltered, and production is highly limited, with only two shipments annually. The name MarBeso, meaning “kiss of the sea,” reflects the ocean influence on its cool-climate vineyards.
