La Maison Romane

France

La Maison Romane is a privately owned micro-négoce in Burgundy, founded and run by winemaker Oronce de Beler and based in a vaulted cellar in Nuits-Saint-Georges. With no estate vineyards, it sources fruit exclusively from organic and biodynamic growers and focuses on hand-harvested grapes. The house follows a biodynamic, circular farming approach, recycling by-products into livestock feed and compost. In the cellar, the style is minimal-intervention: whole-cluster fermentations, low sulfur, no fining or filtration, and aging in used oak barrels for 12 months. The result is a limited, boutique range of natural Burgundy wines.
