Ktima Mercouri is a family-owned estate in Korakochori, in the western Peloponnese, with roots dating to 1864. Its first vineyard was planted in 1870 with Refosco cuttings imported from northern Italy; these historic vines remain central to the estate’s identity. After early export success and a modern winery established in 1930, the family revived production from 1985 onward. Today, the fourth and fifth generations of the Mercouri/Kanellakopoulos family oversee vineyards planted to more than 15 Greek and international varieties, including Mavrodaphne, Refosco, and international red and white grapes. The estate emphasizes sustainable or integrated farming practices and produces a broad portfolio of wines shaped by its long agricultural history and Mediterranean setting.
