Producer

Jules Métras

France

Jules Métras is a family-run Beaujolais estate founded by his father, Yvon, in 1988. Jules returned in 2010 and now co-manages the domaine, producing wines under his own label alongside those bottled under Yvon’s name, with succession planned as his father retires. The estate farms granite- and quartz-based vineyards organically and biodynamically, with a natural, minimal-intervention approach that avoids additives, fining and filtration. Soil health is prioritized through a horse-drawn plow in the Bijou parcel and cable-powered plowing for most vineyard work, limiting the use of heavy tractors. Jules and Yvon are both responsible for winemaking.
