Jean-Louis Chave

France

Jean-Louis Chave is a family-owned Hermitage estate in the northern Rhône, held continuously by the Chave family since 1481 and now run by Jean-Louis Chave with Gérard Chave and Erin Cannon-Chave. Working granite soils, the domaine follows organic and biodynamic viticulture with traditional, low-yield, minimal-intervention farming and cellar practices, including minimal new oak and no filtration. Its wines are made parcel by parcel, with Hermitage Rouge as the flagship, alongside limited cuvées. The style is rooted in a long family heritage and a close, traditional reading of Hermitage terroir.
