France

Marie-Pierre Chevassu-Fassenet runs this small, family-supported estate in the Côtes du Jura, which she took over in 2008. The vineyards are farmed organically, with manual hoeing on most parcels, limited herbicide use, and Terra Vitis certification being pursued. Planted on Jura marl, clay-limestone soils, and limestone scree, the grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted. Winemaking is low-intervention, using ambient yeasts and minimal sulphur to express the terroir, with wines bottled unfined and unfiltered. Marie-Pierre oversees the estate from vineyard work through sales, supported by her husband, sister, and parents.
