Producer

Ameztoi

Spain

Ameztoi is a family-owned producer in Getaria, Basque Country, run by fifth-generation winemaker Ignacio Ameztoi. The family has been making Txakoli since 1820, with five generations dedicated to the style and a focus on indigenous Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza. The vineyards surround the winery on a north-facing coastal hill above the Cantabrian Sea and are trained in the traditional parral system. Ameztoi is best known for Txakoli, including white, rosé, red, and natural sparkling wines, and also produces orujo and other liqueurs. The estate combines deep family continuity, a striking maritime setting, and a clear commitment to authentic local varieties and regional tradition.
