Bodegas Pedro Escudero

Spain

Bodegas Pedro Escudero is a family-run producer based in La Seca, Valladolid, in Rueda, with vineyards also in Toro. Led by Pedro Escudero and with winemaking overseen by Benito Escudero, the family focuses primarily on Verdejo, alongside Viura and Sauvignon Blanc, including single-site expressions such as Pago de Fuente Elvira. Their vineyards lie at around 750 metres on clay, limestone and fluvial gravel soils near the Duero. Traditional organic viticulture avoids chemical fertilisers and treatments, using natural soil management, organic matter, biological pest control, cover crops and biodiversity practices. The winery’s independent philosophy treats the grape as a living expression of its site, combining respect for tradition with open-minded winemaking. The resulting whites range from fresh, stainless-steel styles to fuller wines with creamy barrique character.
