Grès Saint Paul is a family-owned estate in Lunel, Languedoc, held by the Servière family since 1830 and now in its seventh generation. Jean-Philippe Servière took over in 1976, focusing on the value of the terroir, vines and cellar; Philippe Salasc is identified as winemaker and a driving force behind the estate. Its 24 hectares lie on deep, poor, naturally drained Villafranchian gravel soils, cooled by evening Mediterranean breezes. The estate produces AOC Muscat de Lunel and AOC Coteaux du Languedoc wines, all bottled on site. Muscat is made in sparkling, dry, semi-sweet and vin doux naturel styles, while reds undergo extended maceration and aging in concrete vats. The wines are carefully made to express the site’s fine, complex aromas.
