Producer

Funkstille

Austria

Funkstille works with a 16th-generation family producer in Niederösterreich, offering a focused quintet of wines built around Austria’s best-known grape varieties and classic styles. The vineyards combine loess, clay and granite soils and are farmed under agroVet-certified organic-biodynamic standards, with cover crops and straw mulch supporting soil health and moisture retention. Grapes are harvested in the cool early morning and processed at an energy-neutral winery. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with controlled temperatures and selected yeasts; skin-contact wines remain on their skins for 12 days. Gentle fining and cold stabilization precede bottling.
