Domaine la Gayolle

France

Domaine La Gayolle is a historic, independent family estate in Provence Verte, owned by the Paul family since 1855 and now managed by seventh-generation winemaker Nicolas Paul. Its clay-limestone vineyards lie at around 210 metres beneath Montagne de La Loube, producing traditional AOP Coteaux Varois en Provence wines marked by aromatic concentration and minerality. The domaine practices responsible, respectful viticulture, with a focus on biodiversity and agroforestry, while the Caramy river’s water reserves support resilience in dry conditions. Its heritage includes the Romanesque Chapel of Notre Dame de La Gayolle, a classified Historic Monument, and a twelfth-century semi-underground cellar. The estate combines longstanding family tradition with modern environmental stewardship.
