Domaine Philippe Alliet is a family-run estate in Cravant-les-Côteaux in Chinon, Loire Valley, focused on Cabernet Franc, with a small parcel of Chenin Blanc. Philippe Alliet works alongside his wife Claude and son Pierre, who are all involved in running the domaine and its winemaking. The vineyards are farmed organically, without herbicides or chemical fertilizers, with low-intervention methods and some biodynamic-inspired timing noted in the vineyard. Fruit comes from varied soils including gravel, sand, clay and limestone, with important old-vine parcels. In the cellar, the Alliets use fully de-stemmed grapes, indigenous yeasts, long macerations and barrel ageing, aiming for concentrated, ageworthy Chinon.
