Emidio Pepe

Italy

Emidio Pepe is a historic family estate in Torano Nuovo, Abruzzo, founded in 1964, with deeper family winegrowing roots in the area. Still run by the Pepe family across generations, it is led today by Emidio Pepe alongside his daughters and granddaughter Chiara De Iulis Pepe in the cellar and vineyards. Surrounded by biodiversity between the Gran Sasso and the Adriatic, the estate farms organically and biodynamically, without chemical products or mechanised harvesting, and pursues crop rotation, cover crops, agroforestry and regenerative soil care. The wines focus on native Abruzzese varieties and follow a steadfast artisanal philosophy: hand work, spontaneous fermentation in concrete, no filtration or fining, and long bottle ageing.
