Dr Heyden

Germany

Dr Heyden is a family-owned estate in Oppenheim, Rheinhessen, founded in 1999 by Dr Karl Heyden, his wife Anita, and their sons Frank and Harry. The family remains in control, with Geisenheim graduate Frank Heyden as winemaker. Estate-controlled production draws on the Kreuz and Herrenberg single vineyards, with an emphasis on low yields, selective harvesting, careful pruning, and attentive soil and foliage management. Modern cellar technology supports the winery’s sustainable, vegan-friendly approach, although no formal certification is noted.
