2021 · Don Melchor

Don Melchor is a premium Chilean label based at the foot of the Andes in the Central Valley. Its 127 hectares of vineyards average 30 years of age and are farmed at a low yield of 4.0 t/ha. Owned by Viña Concha y Toro and operating within the Concha y Toro group, the estate is led in winemaking by Enrique Tirado, who has directed the brand and its technical initiatives for more than 20 years. Its sustainability work includes the experimental Sundial Vineyard, launched in 2018 to promote biodiversity, improve climate-change resilience, and explore advanced viticultural practices.
