Domaine des Closiers

France

Domaine des Closiers is a privately owned estate in Parnay, at the heart of Saumur Champigny, where clay-limestone parcels overlook the Loire. Anatole de la Brosse, a trained oenologist, acquired and operates the domaine, whose vines average 35 years of age. Organic conversion began in 2019, with Ecocert certification reported from 2023; careful soil and vine work supports biodiversity. The estate follows biodynamic principles, using herbal preparations and lunar and astral calendars, alongside hand harvesting and indigenous yeasts. Michel Chevré advises on the biodynamic approach, while Nady Foucault assists with élevage. Focused on precise, low-intervention winemaking, the domaine produces allocation-only red and white cuvées designed to express grape variety and terroir.
