Domaine de Saje

France

Domaine de Saje is a small, family-run estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, founded in 2015 by Jérôme and Sabine Mathieu after separating from Domaine Mathieu. Jérôme, from more than nine generations of local winemakers, works the vines, harvests, vinifies and markets the wines. The estate’s parcels in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Orange include traditional regional varieties and some very old vines. Soils are worked without herbicides, and harvesting is entirely manual. Vinification takes place in the family’s ancestral cellar in the village, with traditional aging in old oak casks before bottling. The domaine produces Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes du Rhône wines, including reds, whites and rosé.
