Domaine de Panisse

France

Domaine de Panisse is a historic Provençal estate in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with vines forming a distinctive cirque around the 15th-century property. Its clay, sand, safre and rolled-pebble soils include old vines, some planted in 1924, and express the region’s traditional varieties. The estate has been farmed organically since 2010; following the Vacheron family’s arrival in 2020, the entire property has been converted to organic and biodynamic farming, with cover crops and a focus on preserving soil life and the surrounding lavender, cypress and olive trees. Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified naturally with indigenous yeasts, while the reds are made in concrete vats to emphasize freshness, fruit and terroir, then aged in the Clos du Caillou’s underground cellar.
