Domaine de la Grosse Pierre

France

Domaine de la Grosse Pierre is a family-owned, third-generation estate on the granitic slopes of Chiroubles in Beaujolais, led by Pauline Passot since 2018. The Passot family has farmed here since the 1960s, cultivating Gamay Noir à jus blanc across Chiroubles, Morgon, Fleurie and Beaujolais. The vineyards are certified organic since 2024, with manual work, gobelet pruning, low yields and plant-based treatments; many parcels require cable-plow or winch work. Pauline’s low-intervention approach uses wild yeasts, whole-bunch semi-carbonic fermentation, minimal or no added sulfur and, in some cuvées, no filtration. The wines aim to express their terroir through medium-bodied, vibrant Gamay marked by cherry, pomegranate, herbs and earthy notes.
