Domaine de la Commaraine

France

Domaine de la Commaraine is a historic, privately owned Burgundy estate in Pommard, revived in 2017 by Denise Dupré, Mark Nunnelly, and Jean-Luc Vitoux. Its roots date to 1112, and its centrepiece is the Clos de la Commaraine, a Premier Cru monopole surrounding the château. The estate farms organically, with biodynamic practices now being introduced and certification sought for 2025. Detailed soil and vine studies have divided the Clos into eight parcels for separate harvesting, vinification, and ageing, reflecting a precise approach focused on terroir and nature. Winemaking is led by Paul Krug, with Vitoux as consultant, and the domaine produces cuvées from vineyards across Burgundy.
