Château Saint-Aubin is a family-rooted Médoc estate in Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac, Gironde, producing red wine as a Cru Bourgeois in the AOC Médoc. Its history reaches back to the 17th century, and the property was acquired by the Piffaut family in 2015. The vineyard lies on sand-and-gravel soils and is planted with all six authorised Médoc varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Charles Fernandez de Castro restructured and passionately directed the family estate. The resulting wine is described as balanced, combining power and elegance, complexity and charm, with a style intended both for ageing and earlier drinking. The property is now being developed as the new Prosper Maufoux wine house, with a focus on tourism.
