Château Mayne Vieil

France

Château Mayne Vieil is a family-owned Bordeaux estate run by the Sèze family since 1918, when they rebuilt the vineyard after the Great War. Based in Galgon in the Fronsac area, the property farms a single block of vineyards on clay and silt soils, planted mainly to Merlot with Cabernet Franc. Permanent grass cover, green harvesting and selective leaf-thinning are used to limit yields and encourage ripeness. The estate focuses on traditional Bordeaux red wines, vinified and bottled on site. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats, with much of the wine matured in concrete and a smaller portion in barrels. This approach emphasizes terroir expression, sustainable viticulture and authenticity.
