Château du Moulin-à-Vent

France

Château du Moulin-à-Vent is a historic family-run estate in the heart of Moulin-à-Vent, rooted in the appellation since 1732 and owned by Jean-Jacques Parinet and his son Edouard since 2009. They have redeveloped the vineyards with winemaker Brice Laffond, focusing exclusively on estate-grown, hand-harvested Gamay from old vines across key Moulin-à-Vent terroirs on poor pink granite soils. The farming emphasizes high-density planting, low yields, massal selection, and close observation of vine, site, and vintage. Synthetic products have been eliminated, the vineyards are organically certified from the 2024 vintage, and biodynamic methods are also used. In the cellar, the approach remains low-intervention, with natural yeasts and minimal sulfur.
