Founded and owned by Juan Pelizzatti in 2002, Chakana is a Mendoza producer focused on expressing high-altitude terroir through organic and biodynamic viticulture. Its vineyards include Finca Nuna and sites in Paraje Altamira, Agrelo and Luján de Cuyo, with organic certification since 2012 and biodynamic certification since 2015. The estate is also NON-GMO and prepares biodynamic treatments on site. Winemaker Gabriel Bloise and viticulturist Facundo Bonamaizón oversee production, using stainless steel, cement basins, concrete eggs and barrels. Chakana’s wines emphasize single-vineyard character and minimal intervention, including native-yeast fermentation and concrete-vessel aging in the Ayni range.
