Cave de Ribeauvillé is a historic growers’ co-operative in Ribeauvillé, Alsace, founded in 1895 by 44 winegrowing families and still carried forward by the sixth generation. Its vineyards lie across the Ribeauvillé fault zone, with varied granite, limestone, marl, clay and sandstone soils, including eight Grands Crus and the historic Clos du Zahnacker, owned exclusively since 1965. Grapes are sourced from its own vineyards and harvested by hand, with detailed parcel selection and separate vinification used to express individual lieux-dits, villages and Grands Crus. The cooperative follows sustainable viticulture under an HVE3-certified quality charter, with organic and biodynamic practices represented in its vineyards. Winemaker and in-house oenologist Evelyne Bleger-Cognacq oversees a broad range of precise, aromatic Alsatian wines, including Crémant, dry varietal wines, late-harvest styles and Sélections de Grains Nobles.
