Casello Bondoni is a family-owned and operated estate in the Lugana DOC area between Desenzano and Sirmione, south of Lake Garda. The family has produced wine since 1914, while the historic property dates to the 19th century, when it served as a frontier customs post between Lombardy and Veneto. Owner and winemaker Gaetano Bondoni continues the family business, combining traditional methods with modern technology. The vineyards lie on clayey, calcareous, mineral-rich morainic soils and are planted to Trebbiano di Lugana (Turbiana), Marzemino, Cabernet, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Manual harvesting, controlled fermentation, and oak aging are complemented by a modern underground cellar built in 2000 for vinification and bottling.
