Casa Raia is a small estate on a promontory beneath Montalcino in Tuscany, where Pierre Jean Monnoyer took over the vineyards in 2006 and restored the old plantings with deep respect for the land. Its 4.5 hectares sit at 375 metres in a Mediterranean climate influenced by Monte Amiata, including an old vineyard dedicated to Brunello. Certified organic and guided by biodynamic principles, the estate prioritizes biodiversity and gentle vineyard care. The philosophy that “the vine determines the wine” informs natural fermentation, gravity-flow handling and French oak aging, producing authentic wines intended to express their site.
