Domaine Gonon

France

Domaine Gonon is a multigenerational family estate in the Ardèche, with vineyards in Vergisson and the Saint-Joseph area around Mauves. Brothers Pierre and Jean Gonon own and operate the domaine, continuing the work inherited from their father. The vines have been Ecocert-certified organic since 2010 and are farmed with horse-drawn or low-impact ploughing, grassed rows, conserved hedges and bee-habitat projects. Severe pruning, massal selection and biodiversity-focused practices support naturally low yields. In the cellar, the brothers use traditional whole-cluster fermentations and long aging in large foudres, expressing a hands-on, traditional approach to winemaking.
