Borgo Antico

Italy

Founded by Vito Marchesin in 1973, Borgo Antico is a family-run winery in the Conegliano hills of Veneto, now owned and managed by his son Leonardo, an oenologist. The estate focuses on Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG alongside Verdiso and native red varieties. Its SQNPI certification reflects integrated production with reduced environmental impact, while vineyard practices include no herbicides, minimal chemical use, renewable energy, hand harvesting and grapes from its own vineyards and carefully followed suppliers. Winemaking emphasizes low sulphur, cryomaceration and no filtration. The winery is also associated with Agriturismo Casa del Massaro, offering hospitality in the Prosecco Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its wines have received recognition at Vinitaly and other regional and international competitions.
