Bodegas Costers del Sió is a family winery in Finca Flix, Balaguer, within Catalonia’s DO Costers del Segre. Founded by the Porcioles-Buixó family in 1992, the project began with the hand planting of its first vineyard in 1998 and remains focused on wines expressing the character of the land. Its vineyards lie at around 310 metres in a Mediterranean climate with continental influences, on shallow, silty-loam soils poor in organic matter. The estate follows organic viticulture, using natural fertilisers, careful water management and renewable energy, and holds Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection certification. Grapes are harvested and processed with close attention to individual plots and batches, while an underground barrel room supports tailored ageing. The range includes estate wines made from varieties such as Tempranillo, Garnacha, Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier.
