Campillo is a family-owned winery founded by Julio Faustino Martínez in the early 1990s in Laguardia, at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria in Rioja Alavesa. Part of Familia Martínez Zabala and Grupo Faustino, it follows a château-style model, with its own vineyards concentrated within 10 km of the winery. Its 30- to 70-year-old vines are hand-harvested at 650–720 metres, without irrigation, in clay-calcareous and clay-ferrous soils. Tempranillo leads the plantings, alongside Graciano, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Viura and Chardonnay. The wines are presented in a modern style marked by power, richness, personality and elegance, with freshness and ageing potential from the cool, Atlantic-influenced site. Campillo holds Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection, BRC and IFS certifications, and offers enotourism in its distinctive stone winery.
