Antonio Vallana e Figlio

Italy

Antonio Vallana e Figlio is a fifth-generation family-owned winery in Alto Piemonte, in its present form since 1937 and now operated by Marina and Francis Fogarty-Vallana. The estate focuses exclusively on Nebbiolo—known locally as Spanna—from Colline Novaresi, Boca and Gattinara. Its flagship Boca vineyard is trained using the distinctive quadretto system, on soils shaped by ancient volcanic activity and glacial movements. Grapes are hand-harvested, with winemaking carried out using historic presses, tanks and barrels. The winery practices sustainable viticulture without noted formal certification, preserving a traditional, site-focused approach across its range.
