El Hato y el Garabato

Spain

El Hato y el Garabato is a small artisan winery in Arribes del Duero, western Spain, owned and run by José Manuel Beneitez and Liliana Fernández, who make the wines alongside Juan Garcia. Their limited production comes from old, often over-80-year-old vines planted at high altitude in the Arribes del Duero Natural Park, on granitic and slate soils. The vineyards are farmed organically under USDA-NOP certification, while the wines are made with a minimal-intervention approach and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
