Weingut Leipold is a family-owned estate in Obervolkach, Franconia, with winegrowing traditions spanning 12 generations. Peter Leipold leads the winery alongside his family, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern expertise gained at leading German and international estates. The vineyards include Obervolkacher Landsknecht and the steep Escherndorfer Lump, where contrasting Muschelkalk, Keuper and Schilfsandstein soils shape distinctly different wines. Near-natural viticulture emphasizes biodiversity, old vine genetics, greening, gentle soil work and reduced use of chemical-synthetic agents; grapes are hand-picked, with some wines fermented using natural yeasts. Silvaner is central, alongside Riesling and Spätburgunder, in a range from estate and village wines to single-vineyard bottlings and Grosses Gewächs. The style is authentic, direct and characterful Franconian wine.
