Rubinelli Vajol is a family-run estate in the Vajol basin, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica in Veneto. The Rubinelli family has lived in Valpolicella for generations, and the estate traces back to Gaetano Rubinelli, who acquired the land in Vajol. Today the family grows estate fruit in south-facing vineyards on calcareous, tuffaceous soils and farms sustainably, without synthetic herbicides or fertilizers, using mechanical weeding, green manure, and hand harvesting. The estate produces numbered bottles of the five classic Valpolicella reds from native varieties, with selected grapes also dried for styles such as Amarone and Recioto. Aging is in large French and Slavonian oak casks, with an emphasis on preserving elegance and fruit character. Rubinelli Vajol is also noted as the only producer in Cru Vajol to make its own wine.
